THEMUSEUM is out with some difficult news.
In a release on Wednesday, it said it's made the decision to cancel all in-person summer camp programming.
However, not all hope is lost – it will be offering accessible, virtual camps instead.
“[We recognize] that Day Camps are a fundamental learning component for many families in Waterloo Region. With the absence of in-person camp, the team will offer accessible Virtual Camps in a way that will awe, inspire and enlighten children in the comfort and safety of their own home,” said THEMUSEUM in the release.
CEO David Marskell is also quoted, “We have balanced our visitor's and staff's safety with the public's need and our sustainability. The best way to accomplish these considerations is to move online. We also already have a robust virtual presence with free and pay what you can programming online and it is a logical step for us.”
Other free, online programming is still available through 'THEMUSEUM@Home' initiative. You can learn more about that by clicking here.
