Beer Store taking empties at more locations

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Beer Store is expanding its recycling program as of Monday, April 27.

It means the collection of empty beer bottles and cans will go from 25 to about 50 per cent of its locations.

“Where possible, customers are asked to rinse containers at home before visiting a store, practice social distancing and limit empty returns to one cart per person.” stated a release.

When returning empty containers, customers have an option to donate their empty container deposits to a local hospital or foodbank.

As of Monday, the local locations accepting empties will be:

  • Kitchener 1255 Weber St. E.
  • Kitchener 1120 Victoria St. N.
  • Waterloo 70 Weber St. N.
  • Waterloo 624 King St. N.
  • Cambridge 200 Franklin Blvd.
