Laurier preparing for a new reality in the fall semester

Wilfrid Laurier University is preparing for a variety of different scenarios for the fall semester thanks to COVID-19.
“The decision to offer our spring and summer courses online is one of the ways we are adding to this nation effort,” said President Deborah MacLatchy in a video released Wednesday. “There is, however, no timeline for when restrictions will ease, and when we might anticipate being back together in person again.”
MacLatchy said that they will continue to follow government recommendations, but are still, in fact, planning for a fall semester.
They will also focus on wraparound supports in the months to come, such as financial aid, academic advising and mental health supports.
“We look forward to welcoming you back to our campuses as soon as it's safe to do so,” said MacLatchy. “I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a bit of in-person celebrating.”
