KW Signs taking the sign game by storm

By Cali Doran

KW Signs is the largest sign frame manufacturer in Canada, creating frames for real estate, elections and more.

The family run company has been open for 30 years, with business really picking up steam around three or four years ago.

Amad Abdullah, Co-owner of KW Signs said their sign frames were in high demand for the 2019 federal election.

“Every single election stake in Canada was supplied by our firm, this year we are seeing an excess demand do to the American election as well.”

The frames are also being supplied to 15 major US distributors for their 2020 election campaign.

Nomar Abdullah, Co-owner of KW Signs said they applied for a grant from the federal government to help grow their business.

“We won, and now the government will be paying for 45 per cent of a brand new laser cutting machine that's actually being installed now, then within a few weeks it will be completely finished and running.”

The grant is worth $185,000. Nomar said they can get rid of their outdated methods with this new laser cutter.

“We will be able to now transfer those products onto this more efficient laser cutting machine, we will also be able to add new products and we will be able to do things like engraving, and more customization to the sign frames because of the versatility of the new equipment.”

Amad says this will allow them to compete against the big players in the United States.
