Doors Open Waterloo Region happening Saturday

Drop by and explore Doors Open Waterloo Region happening this weekend.

This one day event offers free access to 43 locations to discover architecture, heritage, language and activities. 

According to organizers, 'Water' is the main theme of Doors Open, with 16 themed sites offering residents the chance to explore different aspects of water from Indigenous water teachings to waterpower.  

Since it's creation in 2003, more than 300 sites have participated in Doors Open with over a 150,000 visitors 

This year, organizers say two special events have been planned for Doors Open.

The first special event is a traditional Anishnaabe Water Ceremony which will start the event, followed by a secret 'pop up' concert presented by good company productions happening at various sites throughout the day.

Doors Open will take place on Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.
