Kitchener woman accused of assaulting OPP officer in Norfolk County

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, at approximately 12:02 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment responded to an assault at a Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County address.
It was determined that two people became involved in a verbal altercation which then turned into a physical confrontation. Officer's arrived on scene and took both into custody without incident. It was determined that a third person had also been assaulted prior to police arrival.
Both were subsequently transported back to the Norfolk County OPP Detachment were one of the accused assaulted and then threatened one of the arresting officers.
As a result, police have charged 23-year-old Chelsea Marie YOUNG of Kitchener, Ontario with the following offences:
- Assault with a weapon (2 counts)
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault peace officer (3 counts)
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Fail to comply with probation order
Charged with assault is 33-year-old Crystal Gale YOUNG of Norfolk County, Ontario.
Both are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Simcoe at a later date.
