CMH launched new wait time clock

By Cali Doran

A new emergency department wait time clock has been launched for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

The clock shows the amount of time it would take to see a doctor or nurse in half hour increments. While the total number of patients in the emergency department are broken down by who is being treating and those waiting.

The programming of the clock also adapts to the severity of the cases and volumes that present to the Emergency department. What is not displayed are the admitted patients waiting for an inpatient bed.

Rita Sharratt the Director of Clinical Programs at CMH says the goal is to improve the patient experience when visiting the emergency department.

She added that it gives the hospital the means to provide useful and consistent information to patients.

You can find the wait time clock here.
