***The hold and secure was lifted around 2 p.m.***
The Waterloo Region District School Board says Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute has been placed into hold and secure.
Students and staff are safe.
The board says students will not be released from the school until police have lifted the hold and secure.
Police are on scene at a residence on Stirling Avenue.
They are dealing with a barricaded man inside a building in that area.
