Firefighters called to factory fire in Kitchener

No word yet on a damage estimate after a fire at the Krug Furniture plant in Kitchener.

Crews were called to scene before 7 a.m. Monday after a worker noticed smoke coming from one of the dust collecting systems.

All employees were able to get out safely.

“There's no damage inside the building other than the fire damage inside the hopper itself.” Kitchener Fire Department Platoon Chief, Steve Zurell told 570 NEWS.
