Near record heat expected Monday

We may not set a record for heat Monday, but it’s still shaping up to be a scorcher.
Air quality could also be an issue as conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the day.
570’s Weather Specialist John Wilson forecasts a high Monday of 31 with a humidex around 36.
The high temperature record for this date is 33.1 set in 2012, and while we may not break that record, it will still be well above the normal high for today which is 21.
Health officials say to beat the heat, we should drink plenty of cool liquids before feeling thirsty and keep cool by dressing for the weather and spending a few hours each day in a cool place.
Relief from the heat is in sight starting tomorrow with a high of 27 and later in the week temperatures are expected to drift lower and closer to seasonal values.
