Grade 6 students in Fergus recognized for Random Acts of Kindness

A group of good-hearted youngsters are getting some serious recognition.

Wellington County OPP teamed up with a group of Grade Six students from J.D. Hogarth Public School for a ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ initiative last fall.

Students helped out their community with a ‘Rake and Run’ – where they brought in rakes, and headed out to different neighbourhoods to help with leaf collection.

Last week – the kids expanded their project for the winter months, by switching over to a ‘Shovel and Run’.

The feedback has been nothing short of positive, with one person adopting animals in the students’ name.

OPP say the kids were beyond excited when a package was delivered to the Fergus school, which contained photos and information about two donkeys.

The animals live at the Donkey Sanctuary in Birmingham, and are named ‘Cocoa and Moses’.
