Police out with safety message for motorists, “if you see snow, go slow”

Motorists struggled with reduced visibility and slick conditions on roadways throughout Saturday morning.
Environment Canada issued a fog advisory for Waterloo Region around 7 a.m., warning of near zero visibility.
Flights to Calgary out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport were delayed as a result, and the heavy fog mixed with snow caused some hazardous travel conditions.
The advisory was lifted just after 10 a.m. — and Regional Police say they had a busy morning responding to crashes, including six which occurred in just 45 minutes.
Meantime, police in Guelph also had their hands full, and issued a similar reminder.
Officers are urging motorists to use extra caution, and always drive according to weather and road conditions.
