Security guard assaulted in Kitchener

A close call for a security guard in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police say the guard’s protective vest was slashed by a knife when he approached an unknown man.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. Friday in the Courtland and Borden Avenue area.

The security guard was not injured.

Police say the suspect was wearing all black at the time and fled the area on foot.
