Local Sexual Assault Support Centre taking part in Giving Tuesday

The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region is in need of donations, and they’re asking the public to help out on this Giving Tuesday.
“We do think it’s that reminder to people in our community, that as we’re gearing up for holiday season, often we’re thinking about getting gifts, or passing gifts on to people in our family and friends. But this is a way to remember that there are people in our community that really could use our help right now,” explains Public Education Manager, Joan Tuchlinsky.
They’re appealing to the public to stop by and make a donation.
“At SASC, we’re looking for either personal care items or things to stock our cupboard, because we do provide food and self-care items to clients who use our services. It helps them to focus on the healing journey, if they don’t have to worry about feeding their families.”
Things like non-perishables, pasta in packaging, bottles of shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and even grocery, Amazon or Shoppers Drugmart gift cards are welcome.
To make a donation, you can go online, or you can stop by their office at 300-151 Frederick Street, Kitchener from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
