Kitchener still clawing at cat licensing issue

Kitchener city council has referred a review of the licensing of cats to 2018.
Councillor Frank Etherington tabled a motion of consideration on the potential licensing of cats, in an effort to create fairness in pet ownership and as a potential source of revenue for the K-W Humane Society.
City staff figure a thorough review of a cat licensing system would take up two years to complete and would include consultation with residents.
Council will look at the matter again early next month.
