New job for former Governor General Johnston

Former Governor General David Johnston is joining the accounting firm Deloitte.

He is taking on the role of executive adviser.

The firm says he will be based in Ottawa and offer advice in such areas as innovation, leadership development and helping businesses improve growth and productivity.

Johnston left the vice-regal position at the beginning of October. Former astronaut Julie Payette took over as our 29th Governor General.

He’s also the former president of the University of Waterloo.
