UPDATE: 47 year-old Kitchener man charged with first degree murder following fight in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 43-year-old Kitchener man with one count of first degree murder in connection with the death of a 37-year-old Kitchener man following a fight in Kitchener yesterday.
Police were called to the area of Mooregate Crescent just before 5 p.m. where a fight broke out between two men inside a home.
CPR was performed on the victim at the scene, he later died in hospital.
Police say the men are known to each other.
“We did reach out to our Special Response Unit to assist. The arrest that did occur was without incident.” WRPS Inspector Mike Haffner told 570 NEWS.
Haffner adds the two men were known to each other, they have not specified yet if a weapon was used in the altercation.
Police say there will be an increased police presence on Mooregate as investigators process evidence and speak to witnesses.
