Waterloo softball team opens play at nationals on Monday

The Waterloo Ghosts Midget Girls softball team can add another title this week.
The Ghosts open play at the Canadian National Championships in Alberta on Monday afternoon. They will face Saskatchewan in the opener at 3 p.m. EST.
Waterloo won the provincials a few weeks back.
The team’s head coach tells 570 NEWS their confidence is high following that gold medal win, but adds they will need to elevate their game this week.
Don Oberle thinks B.C. will provide the stiffest competition.
The top eight teams will move on to championship round.
The Ghosts could have as many as eight members playing on scholarships in the United States next season.
