Man severely injured in interaction with OPP northwest of Kitchener

Ontario’s police watchdog says it’s looking for witnesses after a man was seriously injured during an incident in a community northwest of Kitchener.

The Special Investigations Unit says OPP officers had responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a home in Gowanstown, shortly before 9:30 p.m., Thursday night.

The SIU says the 62-year-old man suffered serious injuries during an interaction with the officers.

There are few other details and the SIU says the man remains in hospital.
