It’s possible some Waterloo Regional Police officers on St. Patrick’s Day duty in Waterloo had writer’s cramp from handing out tickets.
The final numbers are in from Project Respect, and police say a total of 208 charges were laid.
197 were provincial offence notices and 11 criminal code charges were laid.
In addition, four people were arrested.
It’s estimated over 14,000 people partied in the university district on Friday.
Police Chief Bryan Larkin says, “We are grateful for the hard work of all of our members, as well as by our partner agencies. This is one of our largest operational deployments of the year, which requires significant planning and a collective approach to ensure public safety.”
