Cyclist killed after crash in front of Conestoga Mall

A 64 year-old Kitchener man has been killed after a crash in north Waterloo Thursday morning.
Police say the man was riding his bike in the area of King St N at Conestogo Rd just before 7 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
He suffered serious injuries to his legs and hip and was without vital signs when police arrived. He later died in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle is a 61 year-old man from Waterloo.
Police say charges are pending.
The traffic reconstruction unit was on scene Thursday blocking northbound lane on King approaching Conestoga Rd.
Highway 85 NB ramp at King was closed for almost five hours for the investigation but has since re-opened.
