Rangers begin three games in three nights with a win over Saginaw

The Kitchener Rangers got four points from rookie Greg Meireles on their way to a 6-2 win over Saginaw at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Friday night.
Head Coach Jay McKee says jumping out to a 3-1 lead entering the third period allowed him to rest up some of his veteran players.
“The key is to try and get games like this where you can get a little bit of a lead and start to roll four lines and not lean on guys that eat up a lot of ice time,” says McKee, “you don’t want to burn them out when you’ve got three games in basically two and a half days.”
The Rangers head up to Owen Sound tonight for a game against the Attack, and defenseman Dylan Di Perna says this stretch of three games in three days will serve as a good learning experience for the younger guys on the team.
”I’ve gone through it more than enough times but I guess for the younger guys they’ll have to see how to prepare and how to get ready for the next games coming up.”
