Heat warning continues, temp will feel near 40 Wednesday

Another day in the blast furnace for much of southern Ontario.

A heat warning remains in effect for Waterloo Region and area with the high today expected to reach 31 with humidex values in the 40 degree range.

That’s essentially what we had yesterday.

Environment Canada stresses the need for everyone to keep hydrated in this type of weather, especially those most at risk of falling ill including the elderly, the very young and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Relief is in sight, but not until later tomorrow when a cold front is expected to push through and then more seasonal conditions are in the forecast for Friday.

However, all this heat and humidity sets the stage for potentially nasty weather.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible today through tomorrow.
