Some tips to keep in mind as students move into residence

It’s day two of moving day for Wilfrid Laurier University students and the University of Waterloo students.
David Shorey is the Associate Director of Residence Education at Wilfrid Laurier University and he tells us, students should label everything they own so there is no mix-ups when moving in.
Shorey adds students should try and get involved with their new city and university.
“That sense of closeness, that sort of feeling of home has sustained itself at WLU,” says Shorey. I think that’s because the culture of our student body that is valuing the kind of connections with their peers that they recognize will last through their undergrad and beyond. It really does start on the first day when they move in.”
We all know that move-in day can be both exciting and emotional for all involved.
Shorey adds with the safe community Laurier provides it gives students the opportunity to really become who they want to be and start making decisions for themselves and taking risks.
