Real life Snoopy spotted in Kitchener

It was a ruff situation for a Kitchener dog this morning, after he got stuck the roof of his home.
A concerned neighbour called the local fire department just after 10 a.m. when they noticed the dog on top of a home on Highland Road West.
Platoon Chief Steve Zurell says the dog got out by opening up a closed window that faces the roof.
“Sounds like the dog wanted to get out maybe, and opened the window and got out on the roof.” Zurell says, “it was a fairly large dog, probably about 70 lbs, so we needed the bucket to bring him down safely.”
The neighbours told Zurell the dog has gotten onto the roof before. He says “apparently this dog has the ability to open a window, which leads to the roof that you see in that picture.”
Zurell says this call was definitely an oddball.
“It went very well. The dog was very cooperative. He seemed a little sorry for being up there, you can tell he was a little sheepish when we brought him down.”
In his 30 years of service, this is the second dog he’s saved from a roof, after a dog jumped from a balcony onto a roof a couple months ago.
