Man pinned under concrete at Hamilton dam

A 64-year-old Brantford man was airlifted to hospital after he was trapped under a concrete beam at a dam in Hamilton.

Emergency crews were called to Progreston Road in Flamborough where workers were making repairs to the dam just before 11 a.m. Thursday.

“After a period of time, fire rescued the individual utilizing a crane,” said Acting Staff Sgt. Oliver Mann.

“There was a trauma surgical team on site. There were no amputations required at the scene.”

Mann said the man had “significant injuries,” but his condition is stable.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
