A portion of Gordon Street in Guelph will close today to allow for continued work on a major infrastructure project in the city.
Gordon will be closed to traffic in both directions between the Guelph Animal Hospital and the Boathouse Tea rooms near Wellington and Albert to allow for the installation of sewer pipes.
The closure will be in place for 3 weeks and is part of a $30 million, multi-year infrastructure project.
The water main and wastewater project is the city’s largest to date.
During the closure, the Guelph Animal Hospital and the plazas at Gordon and Wellington will be accessible from the north, while Royal City Park, the Boathouse Tea Room, the Guelph Lawn Blowing Club and the covered bridge will be accessible from the south.
Guelph Transit routes will be temporarily detoured in the area during construction. Information on detours can be found here.
Pedestrian access will be maintained through the area.
Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to use the following detour routes.
