Who is to blame for Calgary bobsleigh track accident?

A long-time liability lawyer says it’s tough to say whether a sports training facility in Calgary might be found negligent for the deaths of two teenaged brothers who took an after-hours run down an Olympic bobsled track.

Scott Cozens says all the facts are needed before judging whether Canada Olympic Park operator WinSport is at all liable for the weekend incident that killed 17-year-old twins Jordan and Evan Caldwell.

Six other boys were injured when their sled crashed into a gate separating the luge and bobsled tracks.

Calgary lawyer Peter Collins says it’s unlikely WinSport will be held responsible, especially given that the Caldwell twins had worked at the facility last winter and would’ve known how to sneak onto the track.
