Arrest made in Cambridge shooting from Saturday

Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest following a shooting in a car park in Cambridge over the weekend.
Police say a 25-year-old Brampton man is recovering in hospital after being shot multiple times early Saturday morning on Fountain near the 401.
He’s listed in stable condition.
A female who was in the car with him was not hurt.
Police have since arrested 33-year-old Hasnain Ali Manji of Kitchener.
He’s charged with attempted murder with a firearm, weapons dangerous and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Police say they expect to lay additional charges.
Meantime, police are trying to locate a 1997 Mercedes E32, four door black vehicle, with Ontario licence plate BSPL580.
They say it’s believed to have damage to the front passenger side.
Police caution against approaching the vehicle.
“This is an investigation that involves an individual being shot multiple times, and we don’t want the community members who may find this vehicle to approach it, as we’re unsure of who may be operating the vehicle,” says Staff Sergeant Michael Haffner.
They say you should call 911 if you know of its whereabouts.
Early in the investigation, police stressed they believed this to be a targeted attack and not random.
Still, Regional Police Chief Bryan Larkin says, “These types of incidents cause trepidation within our community. Through hard work and a team effort by several branches with the organization, we have restored a sense of calm.”
