Local trainer loses 17 horses in Puslinch barn fire

A devastating day for our local horse racing industry as 43 horses perished in the massive blaze at Classy Lane Stables in Puslinch Monday night.

Seventeen of those horses were owned by trainer Ben Wallace. He says all the trainers are still in shock.

‘We’ve lost everything, there are 43 carcasses laying over there it’s like identifying your children…it’s not easy…it’s hard for everybody.”

You can listen to the full interview with Wallace below. He was guest on The Eric Drozd Show.

Classy Lane co-owner Jamie Miller also spoke on Tuesday afternoon to TV news channel CP24.

He says this is devastating for the trainers.
