Hit and run in Waterloo

Waterloo regional police were busy last night with a high number of calls to service.
Police responded to a hit and run in Kitchener at 12:27 Friday morning on King Street at Dupont.
A 19 year-old female was struck by a vehicle while crossing king, the vehicle fled the scene but was later located at a nearby apartment building.
A 29 year-old Brampton man has been arrested and charged with failing to remain at the scene along with a number of other charges.
The young woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say alcohol was not a factor and add they are still conducting RIDE check programs around Waterloo Region until 1 p.m. Friday.
