Kitchener pledges funds to improve Iron Horse Trail

Kitchener City Council has thrown its support behind funding to improve the Iron Horse Trail.

The Record reports council has approved a strategy that could result in the allocation of $750,000 next year to enhance and widen the central part of the trail.

The strategy calls for a $2.5 million injection into improvements on the entire trail over the next several years, but the first phase would focus on the central portion near Victoria Park.

The actual amount to be spent will be determined during budget deliberations, which begin on November 29th.
