Thousands hit pavement for annual ‘Run for the Cure’

Thousands of runners will hit the pavement today for CIBC’s “Run for the Cure” campaign that helps raise money for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Run for the Cure events take place all across the country, and have since 1991.
Winnie Go will be participating in the local run for the fourth straight year.
Go was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2010, she told 570 news why the run has become such an important part of her life.
“Most people have been touched by some sort of cancer, from someone they know – colleague, friend, or family. At the run you come together to support people and it’s just a time to celebrate people who have survived, a time to heal and a time to remember.”
The Run for the Cure takes place at 61 locations across Canada- including one locally at Conestoga College’s Doon Campus.
