OPP survey waterways this long weekend

The roads get a lot of attention from the police on long weekends – and so do our waterways.

The OPP and their marine enforcement partners will be out on the waterways this weekend looking for people breaking liquor laws while boating.

OPP are reminding boaters that the only time liquor is allowed on a vessel is if it docked or anchored and has cooking, bathroom and sleeping facilities.

Operating a boat while impaired comes with the same consequences as driving a vehicle while impaired. You will not only face criminal charges, but also have your driving privileges for motor vehicles immediately suspended.
