This article is more than 5 years old.
Where is it?
- McLennen Park, Kitchener
- Ottawa and Strasburg
How do I get there?
- If you drive, there are parking permits you can purchase
- DON’T PARK ON THE SIDE STREETS. It’s forbidden
- Accessibility Parking is available off Block Line
- A shuttle bus service is available from Conestoga College
What time does it start?
- Gates open at 1:30pm
Where are the Gates?
- Gate 1 (Public Entrance) is off of Ottawa Street at the McLennen Park entrance
- Gate 3 (VIP/Artist Entrance) is off of Block Line
What should I bring?
- Sunscreen
- Definitely sensible shoes; McLennen Park is still padded with woodchips
- Remember; there is no shade
What should I not bring?
- You can’t bring in outside beverages or food, so both of these things is a bad idea
- Remember – only a fool would try to smuggle in alcohol
- You cannot bring in chairs
What else should I know?
- There is no re-entry
- ATM’s are now available inside the park for your convenience
- There is no midway this year
- You will find more fencing this year, and the public admission site is condensed from last year. There is a vendors area leading towards the stage
- If you hold VIP tickets, you will be quite happy with your sight-lines this year; the area in front of the stage is split in half. General Admission is one side, VIP Beer Garden is on the other. It is divided by a fence
- There is no smoking inside any of the gated areas. You must go to a designated smoking area if you need a break
- There are now Food Vendors inside the Beer Gardens
- VIP also receive complimentary champagne tasting
Don’t forget
- This is a family-friendly event, but there is no re-entry, so plan accordingly
- There is no shade at McLennen Park
- The least expensive water/pop I found is $2.00
