Waterloo Regional Police Service have announced the winning name of their new police pup.
A contest was held over the last two weeks, taking online votes to choose the regions favourite name.
After hundreds of tweets, police announced this afternoon the newest addition to the Canine Unit will be called Chase.
Chase is making his first public appearance at Police Headquarters tomorrow, for their annual open house.
Congratulations to ten schools who nominated the name:
Forest Glen Public School (New Hamburg)
Ecole élémentaire catholique Saint-Noël-Chabanel (Cambridge)
St Boniface School (Maryhill)
Hillcrest Public School (Cambridge)
MAC Maple Grove School (Kitchener)
Williamsburg Public School (Kitchener)
Cedarbrae Public School (Waterloo)
Saint Theresa Catholic Elementary School (Kitchener)
Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School (Cambridge)
Cedar Creek Public School (Ayr)
The winning schools will receive a visit from Police Chief Bryan Larkin, Chase, and his handler.
