It was an intense few minutes as NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly flipped open envelopes during the NHL Draft Lottery over the weekend. The Edmonton Oilers were the big winners moving from their third position before the draft – to first – in what has been dubbed the “McDavid Sweepstakes.”
1:30 – 420 – Kitchener City Hall

Today…is April 20th – also known as 4-20. The 3rd annual 420 Freedom Rally is taking place at Kitchener City Hall this afternoon between 3-4:20. Those attending are told to “B.Y.O.P” signs, megaphones, musical instruments and cameras. This peaceful gathering is to protest laws against cannabis prohibition. Jeff Morrison is the local organizer – he says about 500 people attended 2 years ago…and about 200 or 300 last year. He’s hoping for a similar turn-out this year with the goal focused on community education.
