An announcement by the provincial government last week – to increase GO Transit service. GO-trips will increase from 15-hundred to six-thousand this year. Commuters in Kitchener and Guelph will eventually see express trains to Brampton and trains departing every 30 minutes in a “peak direction” during “peak periods” on weekdays will come to the Region. In her 2014 election campaign, Premier Wynne said four more trips to Toronto would be added by the end of next year  – that’s still the plan, according to Kitchener Centre MPP Daiene Vernile. There has also been repeated calls for two-way-all-day service from KW to Toronto, to which Vernile says we’re getting closer to with each GO announcement – but nothing has been finalized yet. There are 80 weekly trips on the Kitchener line, and the province says over the next five years it will grow to more than 250.
