Chicopee coming to a close this season

It was a busy season for Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort, but it’s coming to a close tonight.
The season opened back on December 31st, which was a few weeks later than expected.
Officials at the resort say it’s been a good ski and snowboarding season with plenty of people getting out on the hills. Every month was busy and memberships are up this year over last, but February put many visits on hold as the frigid temperatures remained.
“We spent about $400,000 this year on new snow making equipment” says Bill Creighton, Executive Director at Chicopee. “It performed just the way we needed it to in that cold weather. With the slow start it got us up and running as fast as we possibly could.”
Although winter is ending, they have plenty of events in store for the Spring and Summer months including adventure camp, beach volleyball and a new run in May called ‘Rugged Maniac.’
