Tuition costs and living expenses are on the on the rise – and local post-secondary students are considering their options by looking for older and wealthier dates. Dating website – SeekingArrangement.com – is helping students hook up with “sugar daddies” and “sugar mommas.” Roughly 1.4 million students use the site, accounting for 42% of its overall membership. The University of Guelph is the 8th fastest growing University with 105 members on the site while the University of Waterloo has 47 members. The first “Sugar Convention” will be held in May this year in New York City. Technical Producer Kat Drake (@TheKatherinator) weighed in on the topic with Eric.
12:30 – Kitchener Food Trucks

The rules for food trucks have relaxed a bit in Kitchener, but some downtown restaurant owners say giving them free reign would harm nearby businesses. At Monday’s meeting, a number of restaurant owners told council about financial losses on days that food trucks are set up downtown. Currently food truck operators have a $360 dollar licensing fee and minimal overhead costs, while nearby restaurants say their business is more costly with rent payments, property taxes and paying employees, among other costs. Restaurant owner, Tyson Reiser is not opposed to food trucks, but is concerned about their location.
