Say it ain’t so! The Dallas Cowboys are out and the Green Bay Packers are moving on to the N-F-C Championship game. They held off Dallas to win 26-21 at Lambeau Field. Dallas fans were upset about a Dez Bryant no-catch call, however, head coach Jason Garrett says “This game was not about officiating.” This week the Seahawks are home to the Packers and the Patriots do battle against the Colts.

Since the massacre in Paris on Wednesday at Charlie Hebdo – cartoonists around the world have united and are drawing in solidarity for the freedom of expression. Gary Clement is a Toronto based cartoonist whose latest drawing was published by the National Post. It depicts an Islamist extremist running away from a barrage of sharpened pencils and pens.

1:45 – 5 year anniversary of Haiti earthquake
Peter Braid, Kitchener Waterloo MP – in Haiti.
Peter Braid arrive in Port-au-Prince on the 7th and will remain in Haiti until tomorrow – he’s meeting with Canadian government representatives for briefings on Canadian Government programs, and the progress that has been made in the five years since the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. He will also participate in site visits to signature Canadian initiatives in the areas of maternal, newborn and child health; human rights; and education. In addition, Mr. Braid will join a Waterloo Region delegation led by Betsy Wall, Executive Director of the Foundation for International Development Assistance (FIDA). FIDA is an organization based in Waterloo that works to improve the lives of the people of Haiti through a productive agricultural cooperative model that is contributing to poverty reduction and sustainable development.
