KidsAbility opening new site in Cambridge today

KidsAbility staff, along with donors, community partners and families will be cutting the ribbon on a new site in Cambridge today.
CEO of KidsAbility, Linda Kenny, tells 570 News this is a new and thoughtfully planned space dedicated to provide an intensive behavioural intervention program to children and youth with autism.
“The space has been designed in order to maximize their potential for success so every detail, with respect to the design, has that consideration in mind.”
Kenny also explains the existing space did not work for providing the best care for children and youth with autism in Cambridge.
“It was a space that was retrofitted and did not work well for the children we were serving. So when we had the opportunity to identify a new site and actually build it for their specific needs, that was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.”
Kenny adds KidsAbility did not receive government funding for this project, but instead relied on donations from the community.
“We go to our community and our community generously supports us to do these renovations so that we can provided environments that absolutely will allow children the best opportunity to succeed.”
The event takes place at the new KidsAbility Centre for Child Development at 887 Langs Drive from 4 until 5pm.
