1:00 – Jian Ghomeshi allegations continue
Kevin Donovan is an investigative reporter and editor at the Star
Toronto police say they’ve not launched an investigation into Jian Ghomeshi because they’ve yet to receive a complaint about the former C-B-C broadcaster. The Toronto Star says eight women accuse Ghomeshi of abusive behaviour. A ninth was quoted in the Huffington Post and has also come forward with allegations. Police Chief Bill Blair says if anyone thinks they’re the victim of an assault, “come forward and report it” to police so they can investigate. Ghomeshi, who was fired by the C-B-C last weekend, says he will confront the allegations, although he’s not saying how. He has said he engaged in rough sex but that it was always consensual.
