Investigation to probe Cowan’s expenses getting costly

The tab to investigate Woolwich Township Mayor Todd Cowan’s expense claims has reportedly reached $25,000.
That’s according to township council with at least one councillor saying Cowan should repay the community for those costs.
This latest development comes as the township has approached Waterloo Regional Police about investigating even more expense claims.
These claims reportedly deal with mileage expenses charged to the Grand River Conservation Authority.
Police have already been asked to look into other expenses totalling about $2,700.
Cowan later reimbursed the community for those expense claims.
