Flood warning issued by GRCA

A flood warning has been issued for the Conestogo River in St. Jacobs and the Southern Grand River.

The Grand River Conservation Authority has also issued a Flood Watch for the Grand River.

The move comes in the wake of all the rain we received over the past 24 hours.

The GRCA says some areas received between 25 and 60 millimetres of rain.

The low level bridge upstream of St. Jacobs is expected to remain closed until Sunday.

The GRCA is also cautioning to be extremely careful when near waterways, pointing out the banks are slippery and the water is cold and fast moving.
