Ambulance response times to change

You may have to wait 11-12 minutes for an ambulance to arrive in the future, depending on your medical needs.

After a committee vote Tuesday, Regional officials voted to lower their ambulance response time targets by 1-2 minutes for less urgent calls, with the hope that the sickest people could be reached the quickest.

Regional staff say the previous targets were not being met and were seemingly unattainable.

The most urgent calls will keep a response time of 8 minutes and sudden cardiac arrest calls will remain at 6 minutes.
