Waterloo Siskins player receives conditional discharge

A former Waterloo Siskins player has received a conditional discharge in his assault case.
21-year-old Ted Anstett had pleaded guilty to assaulting a former girlfriend. Yesterday the judge handed him a conditional discharge.

Today’s Record reports the JR. B assistant captain was given one year probation.
Anstett has been ordered to provide a DNA sample and he’s also banned from owning weapons for five years.

The father of the woman assaulted by Anstett says ” this is a travesty”.

The conditional discharge will allow the hockey player to travel state-side and finish his schooling in Michigan.
