Stanley Cup visits Kitchener this weekend with Tanner Pearson

Lord Stanley is visiting Kitchener this Sunday, accompanied Tanner Pearson.

Pearson is from Kitchener, and as a forward on the Stanley Cup champion LA Kings he gets to tout the trophy in his hometown.

The 21-year-old says, in a release, “Winning the Stanley Cup was definitely a dream come true.  For it to happen so soon, was pretty incredible.”

Pearson grew up playing minor hockey in Kitchener, before joining the Waterloo Siskins and eventually moving on to the OHL in Barrie with the Colts.

He was drafted by the Kings in the first round of the 2012 draft.

Fans can head down to Civic Square between 2 and 4 PM on Sunday to meet Pearons and get their photo taken with the cup.

You’re also encouraged to bring a cash donation for the Ronal McDonald House in Hamilton, in support of a Pearson family friend who is currently in care at McMaster hosptial.
