Guelph home, possibly struck by lightning, catches fire

The residents of a house at 121 York Road in Guelph are displaced by a fire that broke out in the home this morning.
Guelph Fire Department tells 570 News the house was possibly hit by lightning.
The fire started in the electrical panel in the basement, and spread to the basement ceiling.
There is heavy smoke and water damage to the home, but no estimate on a dollar figure.
Crews arrived on scene at 3:25 AM to find the occupants were outside, but a cat was still inside.
The feline was rescued after crews entered the smoky conditions.
Victim services remains on scene to assist the family.
