Regional police are thanking the public for their assistance after tips led to investigators finding a man they were looking for, possibly in connection to some residential break-ins in the Southdale area of Kitchener.
Police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel tells 570 News that they received a call from a community member who was concerned about his well being and that was their initial focus.
“We also now have become aware of a number of incidents relating to some break and enters in the area. It’s very early on right now to make any kind of possible link … right now the male will be kept in custody for the time being as our detectives continue to look into those complaints about the break and enters.”
As a precaution, area residents were asked to keep their homes secure and call 911 to report suspicious activity.
The man, who is in his 20s, was found with one minor injury and no members of the public were hurt.
